About me...
Here is just a little information about the crazy girl creating these pages.
Since July 2002, the Division of Space History at the National Air and Space Museum is where I call home for about nine hours of my day. First hired to assist on the loan program, I now work as a program manager on a few collections and exhibits projects for the department, and I recently became curator of our collection of cameras from the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo programs. In our recent publication After Sputnik: 50 Years of the Space Age, seven artifact essays that I wrote appear (though under my maiden name, Skomer) along with well over one hundred essays written by many of my colleagues in the Division of Space History.
In the fall of 2005, I started my PhD work in American history at George Mason University. I'm now 2/3 done with my coursework, and anticipate starting my dissertation research by the end of 2007.
On a personal level, I got married in September 2006 to Ben Levasseur, who works as a civilian in the Foreign Military Sales division of the Navy. We have two great pets, Twix, our three-year old cat, and Bosco, our two-year old English Springer Spaniel.
